SOCIETAL VIEWS

Double standards can be seen everywhere nowadays. These double standards can come in many forms such as gender, employment and stereotypical. Societal views are defined as the perspectives of how society sees things and when you go against the norm they see you as unorthodox or weird.
A very common example is when others are dating older people, we see this as weird or not accepted in society but really there is nothing wrong with this.
In this example, people see your clothes as unsuitable for it is outside of your termed ‘body type’. This just shows how societal views can range from the emotional to physical judgment.
In the picture shown, when you are the typical good looking or alpha male, it is alright and normal to take two women and flirt with them. But, when you are, for example not in the best shape, you will be seen differently or treated unequally and will come off as someone who does not have the right to talk to women.

Societal views can affect people in various ways. One example of this is not being able to express ourselves because we are afraid of being judged. Since there are accepted ways of doing things, going against these will make you different from the others and may in turn see you as different. Others may be in the form of us being forced to lie, restricting the work we do, and the fear of being exposed all rooted in the fact that going against these norms of doing something will be judged by society.
